GREEN URBAN SQUARE

TOWN SQUARE RADOM POLAND

GREEN URBAN SQUARE

The design concept is an upscaled version of a living room in a public setting, with the goal of creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere for visitors.

The lawn has been integrated into the design as a carpet, providing the same softness and natural feeling you would get from a rug. The benches take on the familiar shapes and comfort that is associated with a sofa, making it more inviting and comfortable to sit on.

The lighting fixtures have also been designed to resemble house floor lamps, adding a familiar and homey touch to the overall design.

In addition, one of the buildings features a beautiful mural on its elevation that serves as a presentation of paintings in collage form by local artists. This becomes part of the storytelling and artwork within the space.

Finally, there is a great bookshelf with an enlarged clock on top that serves as a lounge bench.

All the elements are harmoniously integrated within a bold colour scheme rooted in town's history, that permeates the entire design. Contrasting hues of red and green create energised atmosphere amongst the otherwise muted tones of the space. The use of this colour palette is a clever way to create interest and draw attention to certain elements, as well as it allows for a more dynamic experience when walking through the space. This town square is one of a kind vibrant statement within urban tissue.

The proposed transformation of Margaret’s Square aims to showcase the local heritage and create a sense of place identity, while also becoming a symbol of modernity and progress.
